What can I do if I can’t afford alimony?

If you’ve lost your job and can’t afford your alimony payments, you can apply to the court for a reduction in the amount of alimony that you’re paying, complete termination of the amount of alimony that you’re paying or an abatement or a temporary period of time where you would not be ordered to pay that alimony payment.
