Debra Messing’s Divorce Finalized
Debra Messing’s Divorce Finalized

Debra Messing’s divorce from writer-producer, Daniel Zelman, has been finalized. The former Will & Grace star filed the divorce paperwork in June of 2012, but the couple separated in February of 2010.

The couple had one 11 year-old son, Roman Walker. When Messing filed for divorce, she requested alimony and child support. While the recent judgment terminates their marriage, it does not make a ruling regarding the financial or custody arrangements.

“I am at peace with the journey we’ve had.  I feel like the 20 years we had together has been a huge success,” she told Ladies Home Journal at the time. “Despite the fact that everything is changing, I think everyone is thriving.”

Zelman is the co-creator of Bloodline, a Netflix series, and co-created the television show Damages. As for Messing, she is currently starring in the NBC television show The Mysteries of Laura.

According to E! News, Messing dated Will Chase after separating from Zelman, who she met on the ABC television show Smash. Their relationship lasted almost three years, but their filming schedules kept them apart too much and caused them to break-up. Since then, Messing has been single.
