General Hospital Stars to Divorce
General Hospital Stars to Divorce

Brandon Barash and Kirsten Storms, both stars on General Hospital, have decided to end their marriage of almost three years. Barash played the character “Johnny Zacchara” from 2007 to 2013, and returned in 2014. Kirsten Storms has played the character of “Maxie Jones” since 2005, with the exception of an 11-month period when Storms was on medical leave. They were married in 2013 at Caesars Palace, and had their daughter, Harper Rose, five months later.

“We are splitting due to the cliché irreconcilable differences, but we’re splitting amicably,” Barash told Soap Opera Digest in a statement. “We have every intention of remaining a family through this and successfully co-parenting our kid and retaining a friendship in the efforts of raising her in a healthy environment.”

The couple has revealed that they sought professional help in an attempt to work through their problems. However, they finally came to the decision that divorce would be best for their family.

“This was not a hasty decision; a lot of thought and therapy went into this,” Storms added. “We went to therapy for a long time, trying to figure out how to communicate better with each other. It’s not anything that we dislike about each other.”

Even though Barash and Storms are divorcing, they both will still attend the General Hospital Fantasy Weekend in New Jersey. A fan who purchases the platinum package for $310 will be entitled to a 90 minute meet and greet with the actors for autographs and photos, plus the two hour show.
