Cat Cora, the “Iron Chef America” star and wife Jennifer Cora appear to be headed for a fierce custody battle over their four children. They were married in 2013, but they have been partners for 17 years. The couple has four sons together. Jennifer gave birth to three of them and Cat gave birth to one son.
According to TMZ, both women filed their divorce paperwork on the same day, but other reports state that Cat filed her petition a day later. However, Jennifer requested full physical custody of their children while Cat sought joint physical custody. Jennifer is also seeking spousal support from Cat.
Cat is well-known in the world of food. She is one of the original American Iron Chefs, she operates four restaurants, and recently appeared as a guest judge on “Cutthroat Kitchen”. Cat has also had her share of problems, including being arrested for a DUI in June of 2012.
According to Fox News, Cat’s statement says she and Jennifer Cora are committed to jointly raising their sons in a peaceful, nurturing and healthy environment. The Iron Chef star stated that “[i]t is with great sadness, that after 17 years, a tremendous amount work, careful consideration and heavy hearts, my wife and I have mutually decided to no longer remain married. In love, there is a season, a reason and a lifetime.”
