James Caan, 74, has filed for divorce for the third time with his wife of 19 years, Linda Stokes. The paperwork was filed on January 8, 2015 and cited irreconcilable differences. Caan and Stokes have been down this road before when they filed for divorce in 2005, which was later dismissed, and again in 2009, which was also dismissed.
The couple has two teenage boys together, James (19 years) and Jacob (16 years), and The Godfather actor is seeking joint custody of Jacob. According to TMZ, there is no prenuptial agreement. Caan is also seeking to terminate financial support.
Caan has also been married and divorced three other times. He wed Dee Jay Mathis in 1961, had one daughter together, and divorced in 1966. Caan married Sheila Marie Ryan in 1976, but they divorced after only one year. Caan and Ryan had one son, Scott Caan, who now stars on the television hit Hawaii Five-O. Caan was then wed to Ingrid Hajek in 1990. He divorced her in 1995, the same year he married Linda Stokes.
James Caan is most commonly known for his roles in The Godfather, Thief, Misery, Brian’s Song, Kiss Me Goodbye and Elf. He also starred in the television show Las Vegas as “Big Ed” Deline.
