Jillian Michaels Proposes to Girlfriend of 7 Years
Jillian Michaels, former Biggest Loser trainer, has proposed to her longtime girlfriend, Heidi Rhoades. The fitness expert revealed she is bi-sexual in 2011 and has been dating Rhoades since 2009.
Michaels is currently starring in the reality show Just Jillian. She proposed to Rhoades during the show’s season finale, which recently aired on E!
Michaels surprised Rhoades with a video montage in the couple’s home theater with their friends and family in attendance. The five-minute video included photos of the couple together as well as their children Lukensia, 5, and Phoenix, 3. Lukensia was adopted by Michaels from Haiti in 2012 the same week Rhoades gave birth to Phoenix, who was born via a surrogate.
The video ended with the couple’s loved ones holding up signs reading “Will You Marry Me.” Rhoades, a yoga instructor, started to cry. Michaels, while on bended knee reportedly said, “I know I’m an a–hole a lot of the time, but if you will continue to put up with me, I would like you to marry me.”
“Really?!” Rhoades replied, shocked, according to E! Online.
As expected, Rhoades said yes, and their loved ones cheered in the background. “Heidi is the perfect person for me. The only place where there’s like a solace…a safe-haven is with my family,” Michaels said following the proposal.
There have been no reports regarding whether Michaels and Rhoades will have a pre-nuptial agreement.
