Thomas Howell, most commonly known as “Ponyboy” from The Outsiders, is getting divorced. His wife, Sylvie, filed the divorce paperwork citing irreconcilable differences.

Unlike many Hollywood marriages that fail after only a few years, the Howells have been married since 1992. They have three children, one is 14 years old and the other two are adults. Sylvie is seeking physical custody of their minor child but wants to share joint legal custody. She is also seeking an award of alimony.

From all indications, it appears the couple’s split is amicable. Howell has released a statement that says, “We raised three beautiful children together…I will always wish her the best and look forward to what the future holds for both of us.”

The actor also played “The Reaper” on the television show Criminal Minds, and has starred in Grandview U.S.A., Red Dawn as Robert, Secret Admirer as Michael , and Soul Man. Howell has also appeared in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox.
