Serial Husband, Grammy Winning Record Producer David Foster Finally Single
Legendary music producer, David Foster, is basically single for the first time in his life at the age of 67. Foster and his fourth wife Yolanda Hadid, 53, divorced in December 2015 after a four-year marriage.
“I tend to go from marriage to marriage — leaving one wife for another,” Foster said in a Vanity Fair interview. “This is the first time in my adult life that I’ve ever been single. It’s a very powerful feeling, but I’m not used to it.”
Foster is primarily known as a record producer for musicians including Alice Cooper, Christina Aguilera, Andrea Bocelli, Toni Braxton, Michael Bublé, Chicago, Natalie Cole, Céline Dion, Kenny G, Whitney Houston, Jennifer Lopez, Kenny Rogers, Seal, Rod Stewart, Donna Summer, Olivia Newton-John, Madonna, Mary J. Blige, and Barbra Streisand.
Foster has won 16 Grammy Awards and been nominated 47 times. Also a musician, songwriter, and arranger, at the age of seventeen, Foster joined the backup band for none other than Chuck Berry. He is also the chairman of Verve Records.
Foster last dated Christie Brinkley in December 2016. They were seen together on a date at Ralph Lauren’s Polo Bar before proceeding to the Blue Note Jazz Club, where they apparently got “cozy.” Although the seriousness of their relationship is currently unclear, Foster claims that he’s going to think twice before saying “I do” again.
“Someone said to me recently that you need to be very careful about the person you pick to spend the rest of your life with. It’s kind of weird that I’m hearing that now and thinking, ‘Oh, right.’”
Foster first married B.J. Cook in 1972 at the age of 23 before the relationship fell apart nine years later. He then married Rebecca Dyer in 1982 and divorced her four years later in 1986. Foster and Linda Thompson, the ex-girlfriend of Elvis Presley, married in 1991 but divorced after a fourteen-year marriage in 2005.
